Research Background
The socio-anthropological research project 'Construire son Avenir' forms the point of departure for 'Longing for the Future'. It explores career trajectories and self-conceptions of young graduates from Burkina Faso and Mali. By applying a biographic approach the project aims at understanding contexts of action under conditions of uncertainty. The project is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and located at the Centre for African Studies Basel.
