Noemi Steuer heads 'Longing for the Future' and coordinates 'Construire son Avenir'. She is a postdoc at the Center for African Studies Basel and also engaged in managing and scientifically consulting theatre projects in Germany as well as in Mali.
Michelle Engeler is coordinating 'Longing for the Future'. She is also a postdoc at the Center for African Studies Basel where she is a project member of 'Construire son Avenir'. Her postdoc project is concerned with mobility, academic life courses and intergenerational relationships in Burkina Faso and beyond.
Susann Ludwig is a PhD-student and research assistant at the Centre for African Studies Basel. Susann’s PhD project, Working on Futures – Life-courses of university graduates in Bamako, Mali, is part of the research project 'Construire son Avenir'. Her topic relates to the self-conception and lifecourse strategies of young academics in Mali.
Maike Birzle is a PhD-student and research assistant at the Centre for African Studies Basel and a member of 'Construire son Avenir'. Maike's PhD project is concerned with the trajectories and intended life projects of university graduates in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
Clemens Bechtel is a freelance stage director. He acquired renown as director specialized in intercultural documentary theatre and writing scenarios based on empirical ethnographic material. He staged, amongst others, in Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Romania, Denmark as well as Mali and Malawi.
Till Kuhnert is a scene designer and interior architect busy with various projects at different theaters in Germany and Switzerland. For 'Longing for the Future' he created the scenery of 'Was Werden Wird' at the Museum der Kulturen, Basel.
Pascal Schmid coordinates projects in the fields of continuing education, research and communication at the Centre for African Studies Basel. He supports 'Longing for the Future' with communication and administration.
